He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo McClain and Margaret McClain; and his brother Patrick McClain. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Schutte McClain; his children, Laura Elizabeth McClain, Tyler James McClain (Kristen) and Brian Patrick McClain; his granddaughters, Avery Clara, Harper Margaret and Elle James McClain; his siblings, Michael McClain, Kevin McClain, Kathy Henigan, Molly Stroot, Mary Grant and Anne Sidrys; and his brother-in-law Philip Schutte (Flip).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to organizations near and dear to his family's heart, including the Northern Illinois Food Bank, The Alzheimer's Association and The American Cancer Society.
