He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Nathaus and Elizabeth "Mary" Nathaus (Krammer). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Joyce Sundberg; his children, Russell J. Nathaus and Scott C. Nathaus; his grandchildren, Erin and Madeline; his great grandchildren, Hale and Adrianna; and his brother Jim Nathaus.

Memorial donations may be made in Charles's name to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
