With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Arlene M. Gwozdz of Palatine, Illinois, born in Aurora, Illinois, who passed away on January 27, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter John and Edith Schramer; her siblings, Beatrice, Dorothy, Norma, Phyllis, Thelma, Leonard and Nicholas; her siblings-in-law, Gene and Carol Oslowski; and her granddaughter Grace Kearney Mittlestaedt.

She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Smith (Ellen Hanson) of Mt. Prospect, Cindy Mittlestaedt (Ron) of Grayslake, Vicki Wilson (Dave) of Palatine and Christy Hunter (Darren) of Broomfield, CO; her grandchildren, Evan, Chase Mittlestaedt, Benjamin, Chloe Wilson, Alice, Noelle and Grayson Hunter; her sister Helen; and her pet Tish.
