With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Areta Martha Akerstrom (Palatine, Illinois), who passed away on March 15, 2022 at the age of 105. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Joseph Miroslav; her husband Per Staffan; her children, Darian Jaroslaw Martyniuk, Tamara Areta Martyniuk-Jazwinski, Per Christiaan Akerstrom and Sonia Akerstrom; her grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew Jazwinski, Sofia, Anton Martyniuk and Ingrid Akerstrom; and her brother Jarema Skirnyk.
In lieu of flowers, Areta's family would request donations be made to the Immaculate Conception Church building fund or the Fund for Humanitarian Relief Efforts in Ukraine, through Immaculate Conception.
