He was predeceased by: his parents, William Salmon and Edith Boissenin; his daughters, Laurie Rosencrans and Kim Brock; his stepsons, Brett Monroe, Craig Monroe and John Upton; his great grandchild Lucy DeMoss; his stepfather William Rosencrans; and his siblings, Richard Rosencrans of Seneca and Susan Walko of Maryland.
He is survived by: his children, Renae Hockaday of Michigan, Beth Ugolini (Joe) of Seneca, Mary Rosencrans (Buck) of Ottawa, Kara Adams (Michael), William Rosencrans of Ottawa, Bob Rosencrans (Denise) of Ottawa, Rodney Rosencrans of Ottawa and Jeff Rosencrans of Ottawa; his stepdaughter Lori Upton (John) of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, Matt Hockaday, Nick Hockaday, Josh Rosencrans, Kaitlin McClure (Adam), David Buck, Craig Buck, Jamie McGarvey, Jessica Neu (Jon), Erin Price (Eric), Austin Rosencrans (Cassie), Taylor Racic (Jeff), Karly Rosencrans, Landon Rosencrans, Jacklyn Simpson, Brady Smith (Katie) and Jillian Clanton; his stepgrandchildren, Kathryn Upton, Jeffrey Upton (Monica), Brittany Monroe, Ashley Monroe, Emily Monroe, Lacey Monroe, Alicia Shea, Emily Davis (Jeff), William Jessen, Natalie Kinney (Broc) and Megan DeMoss (Matt); and his brother-in-law Dan Walko (Jan Carr) of Maryland. He is also survived by great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (726 W Jefferson St, Ottawa, IL 61350).
