He was predeceased by: his parents, Julien Hess and Irene Hess (Nelson); and his brother Larry Hess. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hess of Ottawa; his daughters, Diana Windy (Gary) of Ottawa and Susan Sheridan (Bill) of Ottawa; his grandchildren, Matthew Windy (Jill), Kyle Windy (Nicole), Luke Windy (Laurie), Gary Jr. Windy (April), Keith Sheridan, Stephen Sheridan, Caitlyn Sheridan and Kelsey Sheridan; his great grandchildren, Skyler, Kale, Mason, Rhyat, Ty, Jacob, Nate, Lila, Quinn, Elizabeth and Evan Windy; and his brothers, Clifford and Donald Hess.
