Robert Du Fau Obituary
Robert E. Du Fau, 67, of Ottawa passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the funeral home with the Pastor Kevin Donoho officiating.
Burial will follow at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Earl Du Fau, Tyler Du Fau Bottomley, Jerry Moritz, Dawson James Du Fau Hurr, Zachary Levi Moritz, & John Mobley. Bob was born January 21, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Velma Mae (Koester) Du Fau. He is the third of four sons. He married Diane M. Genslinger November 26, 1966.
They divorced; she survives. His life's passion was helping people. In 1975 he founded RSR & Co. (R for Robert, S for Susanne, R for Renee & Co for his grandchildren). He knew how fortunate he was to be born to Christian parents and to live in the United States of America. He was very proud of his surname. He was a member of the Elks since 1974.
He is survived by his two daughters, Susanne M. (Dave) Reitsma and Renee L. (Jerry) Moritz; five grandchildren, Tyler Du Fau Bottomley, Dawson James Du Fau Hurr, Shea Lee, Zachary Levi and Jaelyn Mae Moritz; one brother, Richard Earl Du Fau of Aurora; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Ohio and Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Edward in 2009 and John (Haniel) in 2013; and a dear friend Janice Rae (Fitzgerald) Coffman.
He completed his gift of life on earth, born to eternal life: he passed from time to eternity. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
