He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernesto "Ernie" and Hortencia "Tencha" Valdez (Garza); and his siblings, Beatrice, Benito, Jimmy, Freddy, David and Ruben.
He is survived by: his siblings, Tommy Valdez (Becky) of Mendota, Rudy Valdez of Ottawa, Bobby Valdez (Pamela) of Ottawa and Elsa Martuzzo (Steve) of Pontiac. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
