He is survived by: his parents, George Nelson and Sophia Nelson (Balken); his wife Jean; his children, Barry (Pam) of Ottawa and Jodi Woodall (Curt) of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Colby Zellers (Amy), Travis Cowan (Hannah), Kellan Cowan, Slater Woodall, Tristan Johnson (Ben), Jesse Nelson (Jenna), Josh Thompson (Katelyn), Noah Nelson and Madi Nelson; his great grandchildren, Peyton, Luke, Carson, Alyssa, Zoe, Ryder, Lily and Rylee; and his friends, Sandi Biven and Mary Niemann.
