Gerald Vogel Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Vogel of Ottawa, Illinois, born in Leonore, Illinois, who passed away on September 27, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Vogel and Grace Vogel (Miller); his former wife Jean Kmetz; his granddaughter Nikki Vogel; and his daughter-in-law Mary Jo Vogel.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Gary Vogel (Stephanie), Dakota, Craig Vogel (Louann) of Grand Ridge, Joyce Butler (David) of Florida, Jeff Vogel (Monica), Carolina, Cindy Eckenberg (Chris) of Florida and Vicki Bussinger (Kent) of Colorado; his stepchildren, Gary Winter (Mary) of Marseilles and Lori Griffith (Bruce) of Arizona; and his brother Jim Vogel (Dixie) of Cornell. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Saturday from 4 – 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Grand Ridge Funeral Home with social distancing being followed and masks being worn.

Memorials may be made in his name to either the Grand Ridge Fire Department or St. Mary's of the Fields Church.
