It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dwayne Ellis of Ottawa, Illinois, born in Ottumwa, Iowa, who passed away on April 24, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Ellis and Elvira Ellis; and his siblings, George, Bob, Kenny, Mary Ann and Dixie.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Ellis; his children, Derek Ellis (Susan), Tracy Brewer (Steve), Lonna Gerkitz (David) and Josiah Hortega (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Brittney, Skylar, Michael (Morgan), Daniel, Michaela, Miranda, Dustin, Patrick, Izabella, Anastasia, Evangelina and Josiah Jr.; his great grandchild Rylen; and his siblings, Sharon, Marilyn, Julie and Darrell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dwayne's name to: Tunnel to Towers Foundation to continue his legacy of helping others.
