He was predeceased by: his parents, James Olson and Marie Olson (Cantlin); his siblings, Roger Olson (JoAnne), Joan and Marsha; and his daughter Lori Whelchel (Kirk).
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Collins (Kay); his children, Michael Olson (Sarah), Karen Dovin (Ron) and Patricia Voiles; his grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Nicholas Dovin, Stephen Whelchel (Kim), Robert (Amber), Bill Jones, Bridget Randall (Allen), Nathaniel and Henry Olson; his great grandchildren, Lillianna, Lucy, Howard Dovin, Asher, Sage, Briar Whelchel, Kyrie Voiles, Allen, Andrew and Erin Randall; his stepgrandsons, Jason and Josh Dovin; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Logan, Kinzie, Kayla and Emily Dovin.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ottawa Funeral Home (1111 La Salle St, Ottawa, IL 61350). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (726 W Jefferson St, Ottawa, IL 61350).
