He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Schlink and Helen Schlink (Nelson); his brother George Schlink; his daughter Kathy Jo Schlink; and his grandson Thomas P. Swenhaugen.

He is survived by: his wife Rita Schlink of Ottawa; his daughters, Karen Swenhaugen (William) of Ottawa, Laurie Yount (Gary) of Oswego and Christine Erlandson (Bjorn) of Maui, HI; his grandchildren, Ingrid Cushing (Michael), Andrew Yount (Basia), Alexander Yount (Katelyn), Benjamin Yount (Megan), Leda and Ayla Erlandson; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Emma Cushing, Zachary, Natalie, Lucas, Audrey, Beckett and Nolan Yount.
