Shelby Jean Gates Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shelby Jean Gates of Oswego, Illinois, who passed away on December 26, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire her loved ones, keeping Shelby Jean's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Secor and Marjorie Secor; her daughters, Glenda and Jane; and her grandson Alex Gates.
She is survived by: her children, Charles R. Gates Dale A. (Jean), Gates (Cary) and Deanna Wallers; and her sister Mary Secor Debbie (Terri). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post 675 (19 W Washington St, Oswego, IL 60543).
