It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Lamonte Dobbins (Oswego, Illinois), born in Sycamore, Illinois, who passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ada Bell "Granny" Johnson and Walter Dobbins; his stepfather Elmer Johnson; his in-laws, Ruben and Joan Jones; his sisters, Alma Jean Jackson and Florence Leon Shaeffer; his half-brothers, Bob Johnson and Jim Johnson; his son James Dobbins Jr.; his grandson Muraco "Rocco" Salgado; and his pets, Snowball, Penny, Mindy and Trixie.

He is survived by: his wife Virigina Dobbins of Yorkville; and his children, Jenny Andrews (Jo Lynn) of Plainfield, Paul Cartee (Marci) of Yorkville and Jim Cartee (Ann) of Aurora.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the East Aurora/East High Football Old Timers Association.
