She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Rothbauer and Henrietta Rothbauer; her son Arthur C. Mertes; her siblings, Louis, Ray and Henrietta Caponera; and also, Art, Ed, Bob (Tom) and Leon McNair.
She is survived by: her children, Carole Anne Mertes McNair and Thomas Berowski (Rena); her grandchildren, Art Mertes (Anja), Dr. Chris Mertes (Karen), Kathryn Mertes Egland (Dan), Dr. Donald Mertes, Sally LaPoint (Brad), Robert Mertes (Tara), John McNair (Doris), James McNair (Lara), Tim Berowski and Matt Berowski (Kiersten); her godchildren, Darlene Brideau, Gail Mertes Finegan and Robert Caponera; and her cousins, Marie Schorn, Margurite Drozd, George Kreiling and Jack Rothbauer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
