He was predeceased by: his parents, Claus Boersma and Catherine Boersma; and his brother Clarence "Sonny" Boersma. He is survived by: his spouse Margretta "Mardie" Boersma; his children, Dennis Boersma (Debora), Patricia Hanson (Jeffrey) and William; and his great grandchildren, Riley Hanson-Chrystal, Harper Johnson and Kallie Johnson.
A burial was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 9:20 AM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421). Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel (15525 73rd Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
