John J. Vlazny Obituary

He was predeceased by: his grandson Lucas Machalek; his sibling-in-law Lorry Griffin; his parents, James Vlazny and John Owl; and his brother Larry Owl (Jill).

He is survived by: his wife Patty Griffin Vlazny; his daughters, Kathleen Bilski (Mike) and Christine Machalek (Scott); his grandchildren, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Charlotte Bilski, Kaylee, Nora, Jack and Aubrey; his siblings, Jim Vlazny (Sue), Jean Dorgan (late Bill), Eleanor Mitchell (late Charlie) and Julie Rottier (Ralph); and his siblings-in-law, Tim Griffin (late Susie) and Judy Griffin.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home - Orland Park (9000 W 151st St, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home (9000 W 151st St, Orland Park, IL 60462). A Mass will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the St. Elizabeth Seton Church (9300 W 167th St, Orland Hills, IL 60487).

Daniel Lesinski wrote a sympathy message

“What a loss...Jack was part of a group of special men from Mendel High School. My father, Jerry Lesinski was also part of that group. I had known of "Jocko" since I was a child and was fortunate enough to know him much better over the last 10 years. Lots of golf, stories of the past, and maybe a few beverages. Jack sat next to me at my fathers funeral luncheon last October, along with Dan Lynch and Gerry Luzi. It was of great comfort to have the Gentlemen of Mendel there. Rest In Peace, Jocko”
