Edith A. Plantinga Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edith A. Plantinga (Orland Park, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 6, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Warren; her great-grandparents, GiGi (Jayden), Ashlynn, Mecca, Abby Owensby, Jordan, Jenna, Harper Plantinga (Bruce), Becca Gentry (Austin), Emma Swanson (Christopher Carli) and Leighlynn Bass; her parents, Harold Gross and Mildred Boyer; her siblings, Kenneth and Joyce; and also, Clifford Plantinga (Gertrude), Dorathy VanderVeen (Charles), Marcella Cain (James) and Esther Hooks.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Plantinga, Nancy Plantinga, Jeff Plantinga (Diane), Jerry Plantinga (Becky), Beverly Swanson (Frank), Laurie Fischer and Jennifer Carli (Thomas); her grandchildren, Kristen Owensby (William), Michael Plantinga (Corinne), Brittney Gentry, Courtney Ray (Shaun), Ashley Swanson, Matt Swanson, Emily Swanson (Chad), Natalie Swanson (Brad), Mallory Fischer (Travis), Madelynn Ray (Ian), Alex Carli (Sarah), Jason Carli (Jessica) and Sarah Carli (Anthony); her friend Barb Manes; and her caregivers, Ramune, Danuta of Dalia's Care, Jennifer and Tom Carli.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel (15525 73rd Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
