He is survived by: his wife Lorraine; his sons, Jerrold (Donna), Randall (Laura) and Richard (Donna); his grandchildren, Steven Deckinga (Kelly), Sara Vellekoop (Kurt), Scott Deckinga, Nick Deckinga (Lydia), Jake, Rachel Doody (Danny), Erin Doody, Kyle Doody, Rachel Deckinga, Tiffany Stevens (Bryan) and Brian Deckinga (Caitlin); his great grandchildren, Evan, Lillian, Liam, Gavin, Maddox, Jamison, Cooper and Bradyn; his siblings, Derk Deckinga (Jan) and Marilyn VanHowe (Bill); and his sister-in-law Dorothy Boersma (late Melvin).
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Southwest Chicago Christian Schools, 12001 S. Oak Park Avenue.
