He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen J. Kessel and Nellie V. Kessel (Engholm); and his sister Cheryl Kessel Walker. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Kessel; his children, Christine Ann Kessel of Moline, IL and Kurt Ronald Kessel (Lori) of Rockledge, FL; his grandchildren, Isiah, Connor and Colby; and his great grandchild Aliyah. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
