As John departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy John leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Schenk and Ann Schenk (Beede); his wife Margery A. Schenk (Stropes); and his brother R. Michael Schenk. He is survived by: his sons, James Schenk (Margo) and David Schenk (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Ryan and Nicholas; and his brother Bob Schenk (Claudia). He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory (1301 4th St, Orion, IL 61273).
Memorials may be made to the John Schenk Memorial Fund, benefitting the Orion Fall Festival.
