With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Greg Childers of Orient, Illinois, who passed away on January 23, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Childers and Helen Childers (Garrett); his children, Heather Childers and Chad Childers; his grandparents, James Edward, Delsie Childers, Irvin and Mildred Garrett; and his aunts and uncles, Robert D. Childers, James Edward Childers, Jr., Larry Joe Childers, David Lee Childers, Gordon Louis Childers, Linda Louise Childers, Loutisha Childers and Michael Childers.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Lane Childers of Herrin and Landon; his half-sister Holly Childers of St. Louis, MO; his aunts, Judy Garrett of Energy, Janice (Ron Lantrip) and Jennifer (Dennis Duiguid); and his uncle Gary "Chink" (Patty Childers).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home (2704 S Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
