He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Lois M. Brashaw (Terrell); his brother Dennis Bates; and his parents-in-law, LaVerne and Mildred Bradford.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Bradford; his children, Jayson Brashaw (Kelly) of South Elgin and Jennifer Kitzmiller (Jim) of Oregon; and his grandchildren, Addison, Ashlyn, Avery and Cooper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is established in his name.
