He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Herring and Theresa Herring (Veer); his siblings, Robert Herring, Donna Vrana, Dolores Reineck and Diane Lathom; and his stepson-in-law John Boyce.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Ann Denk of Oregon; his children, Peggy Williams (Jim) of Manhattan, IL, Lon Herring (Jennifer) of Decatur, IL and Jamie Herring (Amber) of Kings, IL; his grandchildren, Robert, Vivian, Aaron, Ryan, Nina, Carter, Cora, Anna and Julia; his stepchildren, Paula Boyce of Machesney Park, James Denk (Theresa) of LaCrosse, WI, Michael Denk (Katie) of Rockford and Tim Denk (Kelly) of Rockford; his stepgrandchildren, Jacob, Jessica, Jordan, Hannah, Silvia and Fiona; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kayden and Kaleb. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
