He is survived by: his parents, Leo Zimmerman and Norma Zimmerman (Richtemeyer) of Afolkey, IL; his wife Kristi Zimmerman of Orangeville; his son Alex Zimmerman (Haley) of Milwaukee, WI; and his siblings, Gerry Zimmerman of Galesburg, IL, Pam Woolever (Rob) of Dakota, IL, Marsha Daughenbaugh (Craig) of Dakota, IL, Mark Zimmerman of Rock City, IL, Debbie Obert (Neal) of Orangeville, IL and Jenny Bovee of Moline, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
