He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Hale and Naomi Hale (Hall); his siblings, Jeanne Means, Patsy Roe and Donald Dean; and his daughter-in-law Susan Hale.
He is survived by: his former wife Margaret Roe; his wife Irene Montgomery; his sons, Randell Hale (Cindy) of Alexis, Rodney Hale of Cameron and Dwayne Hale (Susan) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; his stepson James Montgomery of East Galesburg; and his grandchildren, Bradley Hale, Jennifer Stewart (Brent) and Ashley Mattson (Dustin). He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
