Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Kenneth H Vogelgesang of Oquawka, Illinois, born in Burlington, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 78, on January 1, 2023. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold A. Vogelgesang and Ethel Phyllis Vogelgesang (Read); and his brother Leland. He is survived by: his wife Karen Vogelgesang of Oquawka; his sons, Chad Vogelgesang (Summer Austin) of Danville and Brent Vogelgesang of Fort Madison; his grandsons, Hunter Peebler (Annika), Calin Vogelgesang and Dawson Vogelgesang (Molly Johnson); his great grandchild Archer Peebler; and his sister-in-law Eyloe Vogelgesang of Montrose. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Wounded Warrior Foundation in memory of Kenneth Vogelgesang.

“Karen. I have so many wonderful memories of Kenny that it would take me days to write them so I will just share one with you. One night when we were in high school, we decided to go ice skating on Lake Starker in Crapo Park with Gary Hoffman. We drove out to the park in Kenny's 1957 Chev. We were having a great time sliding on the ice and talking to other classmates. That was until Gary broke through the ice and Kenny and I had to pull him out of the lake and take him home. Love Bob Goble”
