He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Sells and Anna Jane Sells (Bass); his wife Margaret Butler; his brothers, Leroy Sells and Robert "Buck" Sells; his grandson Beau Carroll; and his daughter-in-law ReVonne Butler.
He is survived by: his children, Amy Beelman (Shane) of Oquawka, IL, Cathi Jo Drechsler (Kent) of Princeton, IA, Mark Butler of Oquawka, IL and Scott Butler of Gladstone, IL; his sister Kathy Sells of Ottumwa, IA; and his grandchildren, Maddie Butler, Hannah Parkins, Laurel Beelman and Landen Beelman.
A memorial fund is being established for the Monmouth American Legion.
