With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Calvin A Hayes of Opdyke, Illinois, born in Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on March 7, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur and Wanda Marie Hayes (Fisher); his siblings, Phyllis Safford (Tex) and J. B. Hayes; and his sister-in-law Sue Hayes.

He is survived by: his spouse Dorris A. Hayes (Hess); his daughters, Cindy Pearce (Nik) of Opdyke, Candy McMillan of Mount Vernon and Christie Ince of Opdyke, Illinois; his grandchildren, Cassandra (Salena), Christopher (Magdalena), Preschas (Gary), Brittany, Kameron, Kady (Braxton), Breanna (Caitlin), Nicholas (Mallorie), Calvin, Levi and Ali (Cole); his great grandchildren, Aidan, Elaine, Parker, Lillian, Ellyanna, Myla, Theodore, Waylon, Greyson, Raegan, Vincent, Luna, Nova, Preston and Tucker; his brothers, Donnie Hayes of Belle Rive and Bill Hayes (Mary) of Centralia, Illinois; and his brother-in-law Russell Hess (Anna) of Akin, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Calvin's honor to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
