She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Roseline Erigbuaku and Michael Ezette Okwara; her children, Ifeoma, Nnedi, Emezie and Drs; her grandchildren, Anyaugo, Obioma, Onyedika and Chinedu; her husband Godwin Okorafor; and her daughter Ngozi.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, Helen began showing symptoms of Alzheimer's disease.
