She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Ladwig and Olga Ladwig. She is survived by: her husband Fred Mayer (Duke); her son Dr. David D. Mayer; and her granddaughters, Rachel Matasar (Michael), Michelle Mayer and Carly Mayer.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Suburban Humane Society in Arlene's name.
