He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxemus Kessler and Lillian Southgate Kessler; his son Stephen Kessler; his brother Lawrence Kessler (Arna); his siblings-in-law, Charles Hughes, Marva Kay Frohning and Nancy Brock; his parent-in-law Homer Brock; and also Camilla Brock.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley of Olney; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Kessler; his grandchildren, Christopher Kessler (Sidney) and Emily Kirk (Derek); his great grandchildren, Sadie Kirk and Maddie Kirk; his niece Pam Kessler Hahn; and his siblings-in-law, Randall Brock (Marilyn), Jimmie Brock, Daniel Frohning, Rose Hughes and Marty Milligan (Lyle). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.
