He was predeceased by: his spouse Orthella Mae Bellinger; his former wife Patricia Harrison; his parents, Raymond T Hayes and Esther Hayes; his former wife Orthella Hayes; and his siblings, Kenny, Jim Hayes, Deloris Cummins, Thelma Piper and Evelyn Ledbetter.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Hayes (Vicki) of Herrin and Dale Hayes of Grayville; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Hayes of West Salem; his stepchildren, Les Harrison (Tammy) of Olney, Gerald Harrison (Beverly) of Olney, Leroy Harrison of Olney, David Harrison (Candace) of Dundas, Debbie Henman of Alma, Pam Craig (Matthew) of Dundas and Carolyn Holloway (Joe) of Flora, Two; his siblings, Mike Hayes (Shiela) of Sumner, Bob Hayes (Dee) of Bridgeport, Ellen Mortenson (Chuck) of Midwest and Kathy Slichenmyer of Olney; his grandsons, Zack Hayes (Kourtney) of Chandler and Zane Hayes of Evansville; and his great grandchild Hazel Hayes. He is also survived by 21 Step Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, 10 Step Great-Great Grandchildren, along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Crest Haven Memorial Park (7573 E Il 250, Claremont, IL 62421). A graveside service was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
