He is survived by: his wife Erika; his children, Thorsten Schaette (Cheryl) of Olney and Uta Markgraf of Munich, Germany; his grandchildren, Pamela Schaette and Lucka Markgraf; his great grandchild Callie Wontrop; and his siblings, Armin Schaette and Crista Kohlmann. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
