With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John W. Monroe of Olney, Illinois, who passed away on February 8, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. John W. Monroe and Jean Monroe (Crawford); his wife Elizabeth Ann Hewitt; his son Matthew Monroe; and his sister Mary Prout.
He is survived by: his brother Jack Monroe (Judy) of Benton, IL; and his nieces and nephews, Melinda Phillips, Melissa Wofford, Michelle Laird, Melissa Koinzan, Mark Noel and Michael Noel.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home - Olney (205 E Elm St, Olney, IL 62450). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
