He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma Lanning and Marshall Lanning; and his siblings, Geneva Waltz, Opal Rhodes, Berniece Bowen, Kathryn VanDalson, Betty Martin, Alvin Lanning, Howard Lanning, Bob Lanning, Donald Lanning and John Lanning.
He is survived by: his spouses, Mary Jane Stanley and John Ann Carter (Mitchell); his sisters, Mary Tebbe and Birdie Knecht; his daughters, Melanie Kurtz (Don) and Stephanie Fulk (Tim); his grandchildren, Heather Purviance, Mark Kurtz, Dustin Levitt and Stephan Levitt; and his great grandchildren, Michael Purviance III, Norah Levitt and Carson Levitt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Vincennes, Indiana.
