He was predeceased by: his father William Paul Ritter Senior; his brother William Ritter Junior; his grandparents, Cloyd Wynn, Thelma Wynn, Robert Lawrence and Sarah Ritter; his stepgrandfather Harry Cassady; and his uncle Robert Ritter.

He is survived by: his mother Marilyn Sue Ritter (Wynn) of Olney; his daughter Nickie Sue Ritter of Olney; his granddaughter Daisy Daniel of Olney; his brother Robert "Bob" Ritter (Hope) of Olney; his uncles, Cloren "Corky" Wynn (Laura) of Lindsay, Junior Wynn (Janice) of Louisville, Edward Ritter (Shirley) of Olney and Douglas Cassady of Olney; his nephew Chris Ritter of Olney; and also Gary Presicci of Owensboro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital.
