The memory of Wayne A. Groom of Okawville, Illinois, who passed away on April 1, 2025 at the age of 71, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Groom and Marie Groom; his brother Vern Groom (Audrey); his sister-in-law Judy Groom; and his cousin Billy Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Groom of Okawville; his sons, Ryan Groom (Morgan) of Nashville, IL and Randy; his grandchildren, Cecelia Groom of Venedy, Layla of Nashville, Ledger of Nashville and Lynnex Groom of Nashville; and his siblings, Sally Cook (Lonnis) of Waterloo, IL, Terry Groom of Belleville, Renea Sauerwein (Jim) of Villa Hills, IL and Glenn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Campagna Funeral Home (700 S Front St, Okawville, IL 62271).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
