Mildred L. Barkau Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred L. Barkau (Okawville, Illinois), who passed away on December 15, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Joellenbeck and Hulda Joellenbeck; her husband Roland Barkau; her brothers, Roland Joellenbeck (Leona) and Ralph; her sister-in-law Marian Brockmeier (Walter); and her granddaughter Elizabeth.
She is survived by: her children, Brad Barkau (Deborah) of Okawville, Bruce Barkau (Kathy) of Okawville and Brenda Schildz (Christopher) of St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren, Dr. Erin Buckley (Lucas Buckley), Dr. Erica Ibendahl (Drew), Cullan Barkau (Morgan), Beau Barkau (Christine), Kayla Gentz (Eric), Dr. Michael Schildz (Meggie), Matthew Schildz and Kristen Schildz; and her great grandchildren, Aiden, Ava Buckley, Lilly, Grady Ibendahl, Cruz Barkau, Tripp and Tate Gentz. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Due to Covid-19 health concerns, private services will be held from St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Okawville with Pastor Jeffrey Schwab officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Peter's Choir Robe fund, the W.W.C U.S.D. 10 Scholarship fund, or the Alzheimer's Foundation and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
