He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Ruppert and Violet Ruppert (McDermitt); his wife Charlotte L. Gray; his stepmother Mildred Ruppert; and his siblings, Lorraine Greathouse, Darlene Knoebel, Doris Provazano, Robert "Red" Ruppert (Dean Neff), Marceline Humpage, Jerine Newell and Dorothy Zanecki (Ray Neff).

He is survived by: his children, Gary Ruppert (Jody) of St. Augustine, FL, Lori Crew (Randy) of Oglesby and Rob Ruppert (Lori) of LaSalle; his grandchildren, Jessica Jarrell (Jeff) of Tampa, FL, Amanda Kohr (Dusty) of Oglesby, Marsha Chorlog (Justin) of Tampa, FL, Kyle Ruppert (Emilie) of Peoria Heights, Connor Ruppert (Mia) of Madison, WI and Kaitlyn Ruppert of Chicago; his stepgrandchildren, Stacy Schott (Jeff) of Braidwood and Shane Crew (Angela) of Lacon; his great grandchildren, Julia, Mia Chorlog and Logan Jarrell; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Alyson, Derek Schott, Landon, Sean and Jaxon Crew; and his sister Betty Gaull of Oglesby.
