He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Popurella and Helen Popurella (O'Brien); and his grandmother Helen O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Sherri of Oglesby; his daughters, Bec Popurella (Brian Cruz) of Spring Valley and Kristy Cruz (Louie) of Peru; and his grandchildren, Jake Popurella and Hannah Coutts (Scott).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Illinois CancerCare Foundation, Peru.
