She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Lyle and Grace Lyle (Emrich); her husband Melvin H. Mertel; her children, Barbara Sarver and Henry Mertel; and her children-in-law, Art Sarver, Ed Koscielski, Ron Heider and Kathy Mertel.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Bernardoni (Joe) of Utica, Kathy Koscielski of Oglesby and Charlene Heider of Peru; and her grandchildren, Steve (Kevin Sarver), Lonnie Bernardoni, William (Joseph Michael), James (Melvin Mertel), Michael Heider, Lori Herrling, LeeAnn Talty, Melissa Baize, Amber Heider and Angela Templeton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
