Rosemary Ashbaker Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rosemary Ashbaker of OFallon, Illinois, born in Mendon, Illinois, who passed away on November 10, 2024 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary S. Tenvorde Dittmer and J. Herman Dittmer; her husband Charles J. Ashbaker; her siblings, Herman Dittmer, Jr., Harvey Dittmer, Robert Dittmer, Donald Dittmer, Dorethy Shilt and Dolores Dempsey; and her daughter Colleen Lawhead.
She is survived by: her children, Dan Ashbaker (Tara) and Cathi Teel of O'Fallon, Ill.; her grandchildren, Carey Lohman (Paul) of Maryland Heights, Amy Trezek (Terry) of O'Fallon, Ryan Teel (Angie) of Branson, Christina Detmer (Eric) of Breese, Ashlie Zwilling (Jessica) of Olney, Nicholas Ashbaker (Sarah) of Dardenne Prairie and Emily Boyd (Caleb) of St. Peters; and her son-in-law David Lawhead of Breese. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church (625 Saint Nicholas Dr, O'Fallon, IL 62269). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Mount Sterling Catholic Cemetery (1037 725 E St, Mt Sterling, IL 62353).
Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois, St. Nicholas Church, or to St. Clare Catholic School.
