It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe E. Suggs Sr. of OFallon, Illinois, who passed away on February 23, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Suggs and Goldie Suggs; his siblings, Patty Suggs, Betty Johnson, Raymond Suggs and Michael Suggs; and his children, Barnabas "Barney" Suggs and Melissa Suggs.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Suggs; his children, Jennifer Shofner of Swansea, Ill, Jo Ann Treakle (William) of Troy, Joe Suggs, Jr. (Deirdre Tate) of O'Fallon, Deborah Boughner (Paul) of Bridgman and Mich; his grandchildren, Melissa McMichael, Chad McMichael (Amanda), Christopher Mertz (Amanda), James Treakle (Rebecca), Bradley Treakle (April), Timothy Mertz (Emily), Joe Suggs, III (Tammy), Jacob Suggs, Allison Rumley (Charles), Madeline Wrege (Blake), Kayla Barnes (Dean), SarahRose Stanage (Jonah), Rebecca Boughner, Emma Boughner and Victoria Boughner; his great grandchildren, Andrew McMichael, Owen McMichael, Sylvia McMichael, Olyver McMichael, Madalyn Main, Alaina Mertz, Audrey Mertz, Hannah Treakle, Liam Treakle, Jordyn Treakle, Lincoln Treakle, Corbin Treakle, Daphne Treakle, David Mertz, Connor Suggs, Oliver Suggs, Natalie Rumley, Nicholas Rumley, Ryan Rumley, Jason Rumley, Beck Stanage and Caspian Stanage; and his pet Muffin.
