She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Piatt and Erma Piatt (Purhenn); and her brothers, Lawrence Piatt and Gary Piatt. She is survived by: her son Samuel James Scinta, Sr. (Kerry) of Cheboygan, MI; and her grandsons, Samuel James Scinta, Jr. (Abi) of Richmond, TX and Anthony Michael Scinta (Savannah) of Germany.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
