He is survived by: his wife Joy Avery-Niemietz; his daughters, Karen L. Gerstner (Dennis) of Louisville, Susan R. Garber (Paul) of Chicago, Ill and Heidi M. Fitzgerald (Brian) of Las Vegas, Nev.; his grandchildren, Brandon Gerstner, Adam Gerstner, Kristen Gerstner-Miller, Paul Garber, Elizabeth Garber-Kopil and Zachary Fitzgerald; and his great grandchildren, Camden Race Miller, Saylor Miller, Charlotte "Charlie" Gerstner and Elliott "Ellie" Gerstner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
