She was predeceased by: her husband Vernie A. Dodson; her son Jerry W. Dodson; her parents, Silas and Vertie; and her siblings, Thelma Orene Powell, Jonnie Santen, Virginia Ballard, J. W. Shelbourne and Glenn Shelbourne Minton.
She is survived by: her daughter Mildred Aleman (Sam) of Highland, IL; her grandsons, Jerry Shubirg (Leslie Beykiech) and Jason Shubirg (Tiffany Hale); her great grandchildren, Brandon, Mason, Tristen, Jessa and Damon; her stepgrandsons, Brian Shubirg (Jill) and Craig Shubirg; and her close friend Stevi Carroll. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
