He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Floy; his siblings, Billy Lee Witt, Martha Lee Witt Goldsmith and Jerry L. Witt; his parents-in-law, Waldo "Pete" and Wilma Ponder; and his siblings-in-law, Carl Wright and Marilyn Nance.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Denise; his children, Jeffrey Witt (Sara) of Beckemeyer and Melanie Nesbit (Chris) of Shiloh; his grandchildren, Kylee, Haylee Nesbit and Gavin Curry; his siblings, Barbara Witt of Fairview Heights, Tiller Witt (Karen) of Belmont, Ohio, Eddie Witt (Tina) of Troy, Ill and Carla Witt Wright of Fairview Heights; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Goldsmith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial donations are suggested to a fund to support his grandchildren's education (payable to Jeff Witt).
