She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Corbier and Marcella Corbier; her husband Walter Schmidt; her siblings, Clifford Corbier, Dianna Hamand, Edna Mackey, Mary Grotsky, Joann Stidham and Ruth Walker; and her sister-in-law Marie Truttmann.
She is survived by: her daughter Shirley Karvelat of O'Fallon, IL; her brother Tom Hottenrott (Paula) of Freeburg, IL; her grandchildren, Jason Karvelat and Sara Jones; and her great grandchild Brendan Karvelat (Edwin Hyatt).
